Food-X is looking for a full-time, permanent UI/UX Designer based out of our South Burnaby, BC head office (#105 5566 Trapp Avenue). This position will be remote at this time.

Duties & Responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced UI/UX designer to join our growing team. As a UI/UX designer in this role you will be responsible primarily for UI with a cognitive ability to understand how UX will play a role for our customers and staff.


  • Developing and conceptualizing a comprehensive UI/UX design strategy for the brand.
  • The successful candidate will be designing user interface elements for web and application design.
  • Primary focus on desktop manager applications and their mobile counterparts when necessary.
  • Plan and implement new designs for developers to execute.
  • Optimize existing user interface designs.
  • Investigating user experience design requirements for all of our digital assets.
  • Producing high quality UX design solutions through wireframes, visual and graphic designs, flow diagrams, storyboards, site maps, and prototypes.
  • Designing UI elements and tools such as navigation menus, search boxes, tabs, and widgets for our digital assets.
  • Testing UI elements such as CTAs, banners, page layouts, page designs, page flows, and target links for landing pages.
  • Collaborating with the creative director, and internal and external.
  • Providing advice and guidance on the implementation of UX research methodologies and testing activities in order to analyze and predict user behavior.
  • Adhering to style standards on typography and graphic design.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree (or work experience equivalent) and a minimum of 2 years’ UI/UX design experience for digital products, services or SaaS models.
  • A portfolio of professional UI/UX design work for both web and mobile platforms that clearly illustrates a modern design style and capabilities in the field.
  • Working knowledge of the following technologies and software: Sketch, Adobe XD, HTML5, CSS, javascript, jQuery, React Design Systems and high level skill with Adobe Creative Suite.
  • A team player that can work independently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Multi-tasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Critical thinking skills.
