Food-X is looking for a full-time, permanent Site Reliability Engineer based out of our South Burnaby, BC head office (#105 5566 Trapp Avenue).

Duties & Responsibilities

The Site Reliability Engineer will be responsible for the design, implementation and maintenance of a scalable infrastructure for the FoodX eGrocery management system. This is a new role working closely with the leadership team as Food-X scales due to rapid growth.
The ideal candidate is an experience Site Reliability Engineer who has been successful managing large scale infrastructure systems through significant growth and ongoing maintenance. You will work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, and will execute team goals and directly contribute to the company mission of accelerating the world’s transition to sustainable e-grocery.


  • Design, implement and ongoing maintenance the FoodX eGrocery system and infrastructure
  • Ensure the system is scalable, resilient, reliable, able to handle continuous growth
  • Create and maintain best practices, SOP’s and KPI’s
  • Troubleshoot issues and maintain the system
  • Work cohesively with other teams, engineering and support
  • Strong knowledge of infrastructure as code
  • Knowledge of DevOps
  • Working knowledge of GitOps
  • Additonal duties as required 

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Background as a Software Engineer
  • Experience with hyper-scale cloud deployments
  • Motivated and driven to exceed goals
  • Exemplary oral and written communication
  • Ability to prioritize and maintain multiple project timelines
  • Strategic thinker with tactical execution abilities
